Kyia Monahwee would not be denied at the plate on Tuesday, picking up four hits and leading the Lady Jets to a 11-3 win over Dodge City Community College. Monahwee singled in the first, singled in the second, homered in the fourth, and singled in the fifth. The Lady Jets grabbed an early lead and scored on a double by Lexi Vargas, a double by Courtney Vaughn, and a single by Marrissa Gibson in the first inning. The Lady Jets scored four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Monahwee, Kirsten Goodman, and Madeline Pitts and a double by Vargas. Vaughn pitched the Lady Jets to victory. She surrendered three runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Jordyn McDaniel was on the mound for Dodge City. She surrendered seven runs on 12 hits over four innings, striking out one and walking one. Brittany Kendall threw two-thirds of an inning in relief. The Lady Jets scattered 18 hits in the game. Monahwee, Vaughn, Pitts, Kelsey Gammage, Kaitlyn Stark, and Vargas each collected multiple hits for the team. Monahwee led the Lady Jets with four hits in four at bats. They also tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Gammage led the way with three. Dodge City totaled eight hits. Brittany Gonzalez and McDaniel each managed multiple hits for Dodge City. Gonzalez went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Dodge City in hits.
