Jets' Baseball drops two one-run games at Western

ALTUS, Oklahoma --  The NOC Jets dropped two one-run games to Western at Altus on Thursday 3-2 and 5-4.

NOC (24-17) is 8-10 in league play while Western (26-9) improved to 15-3 in conference.

In Game 1, Western rallied from a 2-0 lead scoring three runs in the seventh to win by walk-off 3-2.

Piercen Mcelyea was the tough luck loser allowing three earned runs on three hits.

Connor Thaxton and Calyn Halvorson hit solo home runs to give the Jets a 2-0 lead.

In Game 2, the Jets rallied from a 4-2 deficit to tie the Pioneers in the eighth but Western scored the go-ahead run in the bottom half and held off the Jets 5-4.

Jaron DeBerry and Murphy Gienger worked for the Jets, DeBerry allowing three earned runs.  Gienger took the loss allowing an unearned run in 1.1 inning of work.

Ambren Voitik and Gage Ninness each had doubles, Halvorson scored two runs for NOC Enid.

The Jets host Western Saturday at 1 p.m.
