Daniel Schlehuber worked six strong innings and Jhett Creel and Jesse Ponce homered in an 8-4 #17 Jets win over #20 NOC Tonkawa in Game 2 of a Sunday conference doubleheader in Enid.
NOC Enid (29-8) improved to 6-2 in conference play.
Schlehuber allowed just four hits and struck out five in working six innings against the Mavs. Maddox Lawson worked the final three innings allowing three runs on six hits.
Creel's two run shot came in the third as the Jets built an early 3-0 lead. After the Mavs cut the lead to 3-1, Cale Wetwiska's sac fly scored Cooper Smith and the Jets led 4-1.
Again, after the Mavs cut the lead to 4-2, NOC Enid rallied with two runs in the seventh to take a 6-2 lead.
NOC then put the game away with Ponce's two run blast scoring Cale Wetwiska and the Jets had an 8-4 lead.
The two teams play twice today in Tonkawa starting at 1 p.m.
