Jets earn series win over Cougars

NOC picked up a series win Sunday over Redlands 8-3 winning the series 3-1.

Sunday's win at David Allen Memorial Ballpark improved the Jets (32-11) to 7-5 in conference while Redlands (23-22) dropped to 3-13.

The Jets broke open a close game against the Cougars with four runs in the seventh to win 8-3. 

Graham Hylton's two run double scored Noah Smith and Brody Rutledge and then Ivan Gomez scored on a Brandon Pierre single.  Hylton then scored as Pierre was thrown out trying to steal.

Jesse Ponce, Jhett Creel, Brody Rutledge, and Cooper Smith had two hits each, Hylton had two runs batted in.  Rhen Rutledge added a solo home run.

Wyatt Rutledge earned the win working four scorless innings.  Maddox Lawson closed out the Cougars with 1.1 innings of scoresless relief.
