ALTUS, Oklahoma -- NOC Enid exploded for 17 runs over the final six innings in a 17-8 rout of Western on Saturday in Altus, sweeping the Saturday doubleheader and winning three of four in the series.
After the series, the Jets (35-12) improved to 10-6 in league play while Western (27-18) fell to 7-9.
Jesse Ponce had a four hit day for the Jets and drove in four runs. Ivan Gomez added three hits for NOC Enid and drove in three runs on the day. Cooper Smith, Logan Fielder, and Brody Rutledge had two hits each in a 10 hit attack.
Wyatt Rutledge started for the Jets followed by Logan Wade, Carson Sowell, Cooper How, Maddox Lawson, Carlos Lopez, and Zack Graham. Lawson earned the win working three innings allowing one run.
The Jets are at Carl Albert on April 22 and then host the Vikings April 26 at 1 p.m./3 p.m.
