MIDWEST CITY, Okla. -- NOC Enid rallied for three runs in the 8th inning to beat Rose State 5-3 in the season opener Tuesday in Midwest City.
Lucas Dunn had the key hit with a two-run single scoring Jake Ervin and Brock Boddie breaking a 3-3 tie in the 8th. The Jets tied the score on an Ervin single that scored Cade Christensen earlier in the inning.
The Jets used nine pitchers on Tuesday with Catcher Lindley earning the win working 1.1 innings. Jackson Papenfus earned the save working a perfect 9th. Jack Jones earned the start for the Jets.
Noah Smith had two hits for the Jets.
Next Up: The Jets host Northeast (NE) in double headers Feb. 7-8 at David Allen Memorial Ballpark. Game times are 1 p.m./4 p.m. Saturday and noon/3 p.m Sunday.
