| Title: | Assistant Coach |
Alan Buonasera joined the NOC Enid Jets baseball staff in fall 2024 after seven seasons as an assistant coach at Ranger College (NJCAA Region 5). At Ranger, he oversaw pitcher development, recruiting, and scouting, helping the program reach the postseason in 2022 for the first time since the 1980s while setting a school record for wins. In 2024, Buonasera and Pitching Coach Chase Van Dyk guided the staff to a three-run improvement in ERA and produced three of the top four strikeout leaders in Region 5.
A Texas native, Buonasera starred at Midland High School as a two-sport athlete, winning a state championship in baseball and reaching the state finals in basketball. He began his college career at Bee County College (now Coastal Bend) before transferring to Texas A&M, where he pitched on two Southwest Conference Championship teams alongside five future MLB players. After graduation, he signed a professional contract to play in Italy.
Buonasera has three adult sons, two of whom played college baseball, and three grandsons. His youngest son, Alec, played third base for NOC Enid’s 2019 NJCAA National Championship team. He is also a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and an inductee of the Midland (TX) Athletic Hall of Fame.
