Ryan Bay is entering his third season as head baseball coach at Northern Oklahoma College Enid. The 2025 Jets reached the Region 2 Championship with an impressive 43–18 overall record while being ranked as high as 12th nationally. Eight sophomores from last year’s squad continued their careers at the NCAA Division I level. Pitching standout Cale Wetwiska was selected in the 7th round of the MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers—becoming the second overall junior college player chosen in the draft.
Prior to joining NOC Enid, Bay spent nine seasons as head coach at NOC Tonkawa, where his Mavericks compiled a 317–177 record. During that time, his teams produced five MLB Draft picks, six NJCAA All-Americans, and 27 NCAA Division I players.
Before his tenure at NOC Tonkawa, Bay served six seasons as head coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Taking over a program that had won just eight games the previous year, he led the Rangers to 26 wins in his first season—the largest single-season turnaround in school history. In 2010, Northwestern finished one win shy of an NAIA National Tournament berth, posting a 35–22 record.
Bay’s earlier coaching career includes a successful three-year stint at Bacone College. In his first season, he engineered a 20-game turnaround with a 29–19 record. The following year, his squad captured the school’s first-ever Red River Athletic Conference North Division title. In 2008, the Warriors finished 41–14 and earned an 18th-place national NAIA ranking.
Bay began his collegiate head coaching career at William Woods University (2003–2005), where he led the program to its first winning season in school history. In his second season, the team qualified for its first-ever NAIA Regional Tournament after defeating seven nationally ranked opponents.
After working as a Graduate Assistant at Missouri Valley College, Bay then served as hitting and outfield coach at NOC Enid from 2001–2002. During that time, the Jets placed third at the NJCAA World Series.
A Perry, Oklahoma native, Bay played collegiately at Missouri Valley College, where he was a four-year starter and two-time All-Conference selection in the Heart of America Conference. He led the league in stolen bases as a junior with 39. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri Valley College in 1999 and a Master of Education degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2002.
Coach Bay has been married to his wife, Denise, for 26 years. Denise has served as Executive Administrative Assistant to the NOC President for the past nine years. They have one son, Bryer, age 22, who owns and operates a cattle business and serves in the Army National Guard.
